Recently my Parents had planned for a short visit to USA from India to see my 2 months baby. We were having a good time in America. We were busy spending precious time with our new born baby. After few months, we even visited some places in USA. Everybody were happy to be together. One day, it was around 9 pm, my father was watching television. suddenly felt severe chest pain and we rushed him quickly to the hospital and got admitted.
The medical team diagnosed him and told us it was a severe Ischemic Heart attack and that his arteries are completely blocked. They advised us to do Bypass surgery immediately.Till date my father has no past history of medical illness. Since my father is a Non-US Citizen, he has no medical insurance coverage in United States. The hospital bill for my father's heart surgery was very expensive and I have to pay the hospital debt through my credit card. After this incident, I realized if I had bought visitor medical insurance, I would not have landed in financial crisis.
From this moment I decided to buy visitors health insurance from a reputed US based company for both my parents whenever they come to visit America.
